What’s in a Name? The Story Behind Inviting Affairs Paperie.

One of the questions I get asked most is, “Where did the name Inviting Affairs come from?” And to be honest… it’s kind of a funny story.
Back in 2007, I bought a wedding invitation business that already had a solid reputation and a loyal customer base. The name Inviting Affairs was part of that legacy. At the time, it made perfect sense—we were all about weddings, invitations, and beautiful events.
As the years went on, the business evolved. We grew from doing custom invitations into retail, and eventually shifted fully into wholesale stationery—focusing on greeting cards, art prints, and (of course) our beloved stickers. Somewhere along the way, the name Inviting Affairs just… stuck.
When we moved into the wholesale world, we added “Paperie” to reflect the shift. We weren’t doing weddings anymore, but we were still creating paper goods with personality—and the name felt like a quirky little badge of honor. It doesn’t totally describe what we do now, and yes, it sometimes confuses people who think we’re still in the wedding world, but it’s part of our identity. It’s where we started. And it reminds me how far we’ve come.
So no, it might not be the most obvious name for a sticker-obsessed stationery brand, but it’s ours. It tells a story. And if you’ve been with us since the wedding days—or just joined the ride recently—thank you for being part of it.
